Now you can contact us by WhatsApp!

We know how busy life can get so we’ve made it easier for you to get in touch with us. You can now contact us by WhatsApp for any non-urgent enquiries and to order repeat prescriptions or food for your pet. We’ll pick up any messages the next working day so you don’t need to worry about trying to phone us when we open. Our number for messages is 07488 880114. We look forward to hearing from you!

Congratulations Laura!

Our amazing receptionist Laura has been selected as one of three finalists in the Support Staff category of the Petplan Veterinary Awards and is the only finalist out of any category this year from Scotland. We’ll be attending an awards ceremony on March 23rd to find out if she’s won - it’s all very exciting!

Thank you to everyone who took to nominate Laura and everyone else on the team too. We really appreciate it!

Getting back to normal - how you can help :)

As we're moving towards a more normal and full service, we ask that our clients help things to run as smoothly as possible.

We can only allow one person at a time into the building. It is important that you arrive at your allocated appointment time to give us sufficient time to see your pet and organise any treatment. Please don't show up without an appointment - we may not be able to see you. It is always best to phone ahead first.

Also please call ahead for any repeat prescriptions or order online. Prescription collections are from 2-4pm Monday to Friday or by prior arrangement if you cannot collect during these times.

We are only accepting card payments at present.

Thank you!

Covid-19 - looking ahead!

As lockdown restrictions begin to ease we will be able to expand our services again but we will be abiding by social distancing guidelines.

This means that we still won’t be able to allow anybody into the consulting room. We will be having some work done in the surgery to make pet drop-off and collection a little easier. Watch this space for more information!

When you come for your appointment, please bring a mobile phone so we can discuss any findings and treatments with you after your pet’s examination.

Payments will be by card only for now.

We hope to return to our normal hours in the coming month. We’re taking our time doing this to ensure we can do so safely for our staff as well as our clients.

Thank you to all of you who have been so supportive and understanding throughout these past months.

Temporary Opening Hours

Our temporary opening hours during the Covid-19 lockdown are as follows:

Mon-Fri:     9am-1pm and 2pm to 5pm

We will be closing on Saturdays for now.

During opening hours we are available for emergencies only as per Government and RCVS guidelines.

Clients cannot be admitted onto the premises and will be asked to wait outside while their pet is examined.

Prescriptions can be collected from 2-4pm.  When you arrive, we will leave the prescription on the doorstep for you to collect. Please allow our staff space to do so safely. If you arrive at the same time as somebody else, please respect social distancing while you are waiting to be seen.

Our telephone lines can be quite busy at the moment.  You can use our online ordering for repeat prescriptions or food requests.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

Covid-19 Update

In light of Government guidelines to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 we are amending our service to comply.

With immediate effect, we are no longer able to see non-urgent cases such as vaccinations, neutering or other elective procedures.

We will still be available to see urgent and emergency cases and to supply prescriptions for pets with ongoing medical conditions. We can also continue to supply pet food.

If your pet does require to attend the clinic, clients will be asked to remain outside the building while their pet is examined so it may be best to drive to your appointment if you can.

Our hours of service will be amended as we are working with reduced staff numbers. We will update this here and on our facebook page once we have confirmed our schedule.

Prolific vomiting in dogs

There is currently an increase in cases of vomiting in dogs, mainly in England and Wales, although a few cases have been reported in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The cause is as yet unknown. Affected dogs will vomit profusely - five or six times - in a short space of time and some will develop diarrhoea also. Most pets have made a full recovery with supportive treatment.

More information on the condition can be found here

Many conditions can cause vomiting in dogs so if your pet is unwell please have them checked by a veterinary surgeon.
